Article Production

This is going to be the first image that I will be using in my article and it will be on a single page with a pull quote. I uploaded the image on Adobe photoshop and duplicated the layer to create a effect.

I converted the original image, from the top layer, to a black and white picture. 

Using a rubber tool, I started rubbing out only Nino from the top layer, and from the bottom layer the original image and colours of Nino would re-appear. 

This is the final outcome of the Image editing.

I have added a pull quote on the image, and this is how my article would start. 

I just realised that the yellow doesn't quite work on this first page as a whole so I shall be changing this before  I upload my absolute final versions of my front cover, contents and article. 

This is the image that I will be using as the background of my main actual article of Nino's story. 

I tried to add the writing on top of the background, and the colour of the text would have been in black. I chose not to proceed with this simply because  it sort of looked part of the wall  that Nino is behind but also clashed at the same time.

As an alternative, I drew a white filled rectangle box and adjusted the transparency to 75. This way the writing is visible, understandable and doesn't clash with the background and also the wall that Nino is standing behind is slightly still visible. 

Here is all the text added on to the main sections of the article and there still is more text left.

Here I have added the article title.

This is the last page of the article. What I did here was cropped a section of the wall from the original image  from the previous page so that consistency can be maintained and I added the final texts of the article following the same principle from the previous page. But there is a huge empty space which is a problem.

I decided to use this image for the last page of the article. As you can see I am begining to rub out the backround that Nino in front of. I will be using this image to fill the empty space of the last page of my article.

This is the final outcome from the editing of this image.

I have placed him onto the article page. As you can see that Nino's feet are out of place. This is because if I included his feet, the image looks a bit fake and to make it realistic, I out his feet and this creates the illusion of Nino standing forward. 

I Noticed how there was no page numbers for any of the article pages, but they will be put on before I upload my final versions of my music magazine's: front cover, contents page and article pages.

Contents Page and Production

This is my music magazine contents page.

There wasn't much editing to to with the contents page.

The images, all I did was sharpen the images to increase the pixels to add the proffessional look, other than that no cropping or etc was needed.

I used the two fonts 'Broadway' and 'Rockwell' as I used in the front cover, to keep the consisten house style going as well as the same colour scheme.

I have just realised two things. I haven't added a website adress and I will be adding one as it would help promote my music magazine, and as my magazine's target audience is a young audience who are into Hip Hop / R&B, they're more likely to prefer having some sort of online access to updates and many more things.

Another thing I have realised is that, I spelt the word Reviews wrong. I shall be correcting that before I publish my final front cover, contents and article pages.

Music Magazine Front Cover - Re-Do

This is the front cover of my magazine that I have Produced. As you can tell it is much better than my first final front cover.

These printscreen are showing what steps I have taken and I how experimented on different designs to produce my final out come of my Music magazine front cover.

I used the original picture of Antonino where the background he was standing infront of, was covered in graffiti and this is what made the image itself, stand out. But as you can tell, the layout doesn't look at all proffessional.

Here is where i tried experimenting again. I used the image as the background this time. This time there are two faults. The first fault is that again, it doesn't look at all proffessional and the second fault is that the title block doesn't stand out and sort of clashes.

This printscreen shows that I am editing the Picture of Antonino. First i sharpened the image then, I cut the larger section off as it could be easily done. This enables me to just focus on cutting the difficult areas to result having Antonino on a transparent background.

This Is the end result. The Edges looked a bit jaggered so I used the rubber tool to smoothen it out to make it look a bit natrual.

This printscreen shows that I have placed Antonino on a my magazine front cover page and it already looks better. I also feathered the image to add the finishing touch.

This printscreen is showing how my front cover is now coming together. This was originally my final magazine front cover. But as you can see, all the large texts are as equally dominant as each other. The 'Exclusive' and 'Nino' plus the anchorage text should of been the main focus of the magazine as well as the image.

This image shows that I have made my main focus more dominant that the other large texts. I made added coulour to the text 'Exclusive', made it bold and put it against a white background which makes it stands out more than it originally did. So now this is my final Front cover.

My Music Magazine's Title Block Production

So here are the printscreen shots of my title blcok production. The first two shots are how and what Used for my first magazine with Rahima as my model. I am re-doing the title block but adding colour and editing the actual font as you will see further on the print screens.

This printscreen is showing that I have chosen the Last font out of the four potential fonts.

This print screen is showing that I am begining to outline each individual letter, smoothing the edges by outlining the letters.

This print screen shows that i have completed oulinging and filling the individual letters.

I am Now begining to fill the individual letters with colour.

As You can see I have filled the letters, but the unfilled pores and unsmooth edges are visible, this is what it was like in the original picture but because I coloured it red, it's more visible.

In this print screen shoot you can see that I have got rid of the unsmooth black edges and unfilled pores. I went over them with a brush tool.

New Photo's

I took more pictures of this model, Nino, simply because he looks more of a R&B / Hip Hop Star where he can represent my magazine very well. Using, mainly these new images as well as some of the previous images I took of this model and the two other female models, I will be re-producing my Music Magazine Front Cover, Contents page and article. The construction of my magazine will be presented as print screen shots on the forthcoming posts above this post.
